VETFORDIA EVENT SCHEDULE - OCTOBER 6th 2024

7:00 AM
  • Yoga and Meditation: Start your day with a peaceful session.

8:00 AM
  • Sausage Sizzle Breakfast: Enjoy a hearty breakfast.
  • Dr Megan Kearney will open the ceremony with Acknowledgement to Country, with a brief resilience talk. A gentle and heart-warming ceremony to celebrate and grieve the animals in our lives as part of her Norther NSW community regeneration post-floods in 2022. This is a practical, embodied and healing expression of gratitude and celebration of the animals in our lives

8:30 AM
  • African Beats/Dance and Drumming: Get moving with vibrant rhythms and dances.
  • Jumping Castle Opens: Fun for kids begins!

9:00 AM
  • Melissa is a counsellor and Guidance Officer in the education system. She will describe coping mechanisms for managing stress. We will be given tools to implement and practice these techniques together.

9:45 AM
  • Music: A very special performance by Tahlia Tabone, her heart centred tones will elevate and lift you up.

10:45 AM
  • Choir Lesson: Join in for a group singing session. Be inspired! EVERYONE can do this!

11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
    Israel Ortiz Castellanos from the Cuban Dance Company will be presenting a Salsa workshop for all.  A regular facilitator of dance workshops and classes, Israel presents crowd favourites every year at the Woodford Folk Festival.

12:20- 1:00
  • Dr Scott Snellgrove and his Rock Band

1:00 PM - 1:30 PM
  • Lunch and Origami lesson for Calm Lesson: Take a break, eat, and learn the art of origami.

1:30 PM - 2:00 PM
  • Free Time: Explore the grounds, relax, or engage in activities.
  • Choral Music Distribution and Choir Lesson: Additional choir session.

  • GAMES for adults and Kids - there are PRIZES and contests for 6 separate stations around the venue to collect points and win prizes!

2:00-2:30
  • Dr Michael - Grief and Pet loss: addressing the sadness and rising above it.

2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
  • "It's NOT all in your head!" (The effects of stress on physical and mental health) Ross Walter is an experienced Clinical Nutritionist, Naturopath and Herbalist based in Brisbane. He specialises in complex and chronic cases, including mental health conditions and symptoms including anxiety or depression, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, burnout, and related symptoms and conditions. 

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
  • Dr. Renee and Ted Watson Musical Duo. Enjoy a mix of folky rock originals and acoustic covers of timeless hits.

4:30 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Dr. Renee and her band AQAA: Enjoy live music!

6:00 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Workshops, Jumping Castles, Swimming: Activities for kids and adults continue.

6:30-7:00 pm
  • Choir singing.

7:00-8:00
  • Dancing beats.

Throughout the Day:
  • Kids activities (led by a primary school teacher and assistants)
  • the Jumping castle will be supervised by assistants and parents, with times that it is open noted on the white board
  • Performances by Amazing Bands and Singers
  • Meditation and Yoga Sessions (led by vets!)
  • Mask Making
  • Swimming in Lake Gkulka will be available Saturday from 12 PM to 5 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM.
